Yuan Gao

Graduate Student
M.S. student in Geography and Environmental Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. B.S. with triple majors in Environmental Science, Cartography & Geographic Information Systems, and Geography (People–Environment Geography), University of Wisconsin–Madison. Yuan is currently assessing onshore wind energy potential on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He uses GIS to screen for available land and the NREL WIND Toolkit to estimate how much electricity could potentially be generated under different siting constraints. More broadly, he is interested in renewable energy development and the environmental benefits that come with expanding wind power. In his free time, Yuan enjoys R&B music, road trips, and hiking with friends.
